Privacy Policy

Effective Date: April 01, 2025

1. Introduction

Your privacy is the cornerstone of our service. At MyPrivateLedger, we are committed to transparency and protecting your financial data with the highest standards of security. We believe you should know exactly what data we collect and why, and have meaningful control over it.

This Privacy Policy ("Policy") explains how MyPrivateLedger LLC ("we," "us," or "our") collects, uses, and protects personal information when you use our website, desktop apps, browser extensions, and related services (collectively, the "Services"). By using the Services, you agree to this Policy. If you do not agree, please discontinue use immediately.

3. Types of Data Collected

(a) Personal Information

Name, email, and contact details provided during account registration or when contacting support.

(b) Usage Information

Interactions with the platform (e.g., pages visited, features used).

(c) Technical Information

Some anonymized technical details (such as browser type or device type) may be collected for aggregate analytics and security purposes. We do not store user IP addresses long-term or link them to individual accounts, except where temporarily required for security diagnostics or to comply with a legal investigation.

(d) Financial Account Data (via Plaid & GoCardless)

When you link your financial accounts using Plaid or GoCardless, we receive read-only transaction data. We never have access to, nor do we store, your bank login credentials. The connection is authenticated using secure, token-based protocols managed entirely by these trusted third parties.

(e) Cookies & Tracking Data

We use cookies and similar tracking technologies. See our Cookie Policy for more.

4. Data Processing & Storage

Data is processed in the United States and other locations where our service providers operate. We use encryption (AES-256) and secure access controls to protect user data.

We retain data only as long as necessary to provide services, fulfill legal obligations, or improve user experience.

Retention periods:

  • User Accounts: Deleted immediately upon user request or account unlinking
  • Transaction Data: Not stored — shown only via read-only API (Plaid, GoCardless, blockchain)
  • Invoices: Not stored — sent via email only, not retained on our servers
  • Technical Logs: Retained for up to 12 months for debugging and security purposes

5. Third-Party Integrations

(a) Plaid and GoCardless (Bank Account Linking)

To link your bank accounts, we use industry-leading providers Plaid (for US connections) and GoCardless (for EU connections). These services create a secure, tokenized connection to your bank. We do not see, handle, or store your bank login credentials at any point. All data transmission is encrypted, and your use is subject to the privacy policies of our partners. You must comply with Plaid's Privacy Policy and GoCardless' Privacy Policy.

(b) Cryptocurrency Wallet Address Integration

If you choose to add a cryptocurrency wallet, you may paste your public wallet address into the system. We retrieve transaction data from public blockchain sources (e.g., Etherscan). We do not access private keys, hold crypto, or initiate any transactions on your behalf. This data is read-only and publicly available. We do not link it to personal identity unless you voluntarily do so.

(c) OFauth for Creator Platform Linking

To connect your creator platform accounts (like OnlyFans), we may use services like OFauth. This process uses a secure, token-based system, meaning we never see or store your platform login credentials. This connection allows us to retrieve read-only earnings and withdrawal data. Your use of this feature is subject to OFauth's Privacy Policy.

6. How We Use Your Data

  1. Providing Services – To deliver financial tracking, expense categorization, and invoicing tools.
  2. User Support – To assist with technical issues and respond to inquiries.
  3. Analytics & Optimization – To improve performance, features, and user experience.
  4. Legal Compliance – To fulfill legal and regulatory duties.
  5. Consent-Based Uses – Only for features you opt into voluntarily.

7. Data Sharing

We do not sell personal data. We may share data only in these cases:

  • With vetted service providers under strict data agreements
  • To comply with legal obligations (e.g., subpoenas, court orders)
  • In a business transfer or acquisition (with notice)
  • With your explicit consent

8. Data Security

We implement industry-standard safeguards:

  • AES-256 encrypted storage
  • TLS-secured transmission
  • Role-based access controls
  • MFA for internal systems
  • Periodic audits and patching

Despite best efforts, no system is completely immune to breaches. By using our Services, you accept this risk.

8.1 Pseudonymity & Minimal Data Collection

We are committed to collecting only the data necessary to provide our Services. You are not required to use your real name to sign up. We do not store IP addresses or other personal identifiers long-term unless explicitly required to comply with a legal investigation or for abuse prevention. Our goal is to allow for maximum pseudonymity while ensuring the security and integrity of our platform.

9. Your Rights (GDPR & Similar Laws)

If applicable, you may have the right to:

  • Withdraw consent
  • Access, correct, or delete personal data
  • Restrict or object to processing
  • Receive your data in portable format

To exercise any rights, email Support@myprivateledger.com with the subject: "Privacy Request." We respond within 30 days.

10. Cookies & Tracking Technologies
